PianoArts Presents Aleksandra Kasman in Concert
PianoArts presents Aleksandra Kasman during her 2016 Fellowship and Education Tour. Her Family and Youth Concert, “Storytelling with Music,” will include selections from Fairy Tales by the Russian composer, Nikolai Medtner, as well as familiar selections: “Turkish March” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the March from “Love for Three Oranges” by Sergei Prokofiev. An engaging speaker about stories in music, Ms. Kasman will explore the sounds of love, fear, rebellion and humor and compare the musical forms to that of forms in traditional fairy tales. Dare to Be Square in the Garden with Jeanne Christensen
Tuesday, May 10 at 6:00pm – Learn about square foot gardening, an intensive planting method experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Introduced by Mel Bartholomew forty years ago, this method of planting is gaining ground in large backyards as well as small spaces. This program will be presented by Jeanne Christensen of Horticultural Handiwork, Inc. This program is free.
